LISP Flash Fiction FINALIST, THE RENEWAL by Linda Booth

THE RENEWAL by Linda Booth
It’s late at night and I am all alone. The sun is shimmering as it slowly sets down beyond the earth, out of sight. The world is not the same anymore. There is danger although I cannot see it – I can only feel it inside my mind, whispering about the monster under my bed, about the ghost in my closet and a crazy man with an axe that’s just behind me.
The sun, the wind, the stars and moon. They are all beautiful and untarnished by man. I feel renewed. The Earth can orbit a million sunsets before I yield.
